On 9 July 2024, International IDEA and the Office of the Election Commissioner of Mauritius (OEC) organized a crucial ‘Technical and Advisory Support Event’ in Port Louis, focusing on ‘Inter-agency Collaboration in Countering Hybrid Threats’ as part of the Protecting Elections Project, funded by the Government of Canada. The external election security expert Sebastian Bay led the workshop with support from Julia Thalin, International IDEA's Associate Programme Officer for Electoral Processes.

Mongolia's electoral reforms have significantly transformed the political landscape, ushering a record number of women into Parliament. This change follows the May 2023 constitutional amendment, which expanded parliamentary seats from 76 to 126 and introduced a mandatory 30 per cent candidate quota for women. As a result, the number of female MPs has increased dramatically, from 13 to 32.

Las reformas electorales de Mongolia han transformado significativamente el panorama político, al introducir un número récord de mujeres en el Parlamento. Este cambio se produce tras la enmienda constitucional de mayo de 2023, que amplió los escaños parlamentarios de 76 a 126 e introdujo una cuota obligatoria de candidatos del 30 por ciento para las mujeres. Como resultado, el número de diputadas ha aumentado espectacularmente, de 13 a 32.

La red de periodistas mujeres del sur del Perú "Micaelas" participó en un encuentro en la capital peruana, donde fortalecieron sus habilidades periodísticas y se proyectaron hacia nuevos retos. Con el apoyo de IDEA Internacional y la Fundación Gustavo Mohme Llona, las periodistas se preparan para ampliar su red y explorar nuevos formatos de comunicación.

En el marco del proyecto Perú Conversa, IDEA Internacional viene ejecutando el programa de formación “Periodismo y Democracia”, el cual congrega a 32 periodistas que trabajan en 15 regiones del Perú. Este programa ha sido diseñado con un enfoque educativo y participativo, construyendo un proceso de aprendizaje basado en la investigación y la acción práctica. Esto se complementa con contenidos proporcionados por expertos de Perú e Iberoamérica.

En un esfuerzo por abordar la crisis política nacional y fortalecer la democracia peruana, IDEA Internacional ejecuta el proyecto Perú Conversa desde julio de 2023. The Gambian National Assembly formally adopted its first-ever Code of Conduct for its Members. With technical support from International IDEA under the EU-funded CODE Project, the Code of Conduct for the National Assembly was reviewed, validated, and subsequently adopted by Parliament on 24th June 2024.
