The ruling parliamentary group Peruanos por el Kambio and International IDEA co-organized an internal working meeting in August 2018, in which the members of Congress addressed the two central topics of the constitutional reform, which the President of the Republic proposed to Congress, i.e. the reform of the administration of justice and the political reform.

The Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean of International IDEA, Daniel Zovatto, participated, as a special guest of the National Electoral Council (CNE) and the National Registry of Colombia, in the popular consultation on anti-corruption measures that took place on August 26.
Mexico and International IDEA share a long history of collaboration. Their relationship was taken to the next level on April 2018, when the Sub-regional Office for Mexico and Central America started its activities. Corruption in Peru has had a great impact on politics and government institutions. The perception that exists surrounding corruption in the public sector, combined with a local culture that is permissive of microcorruption (e.g. bribing the police and running red lights), generates a greater tolerance of corruption and leads to the normalisation of such actions.

The Plurinational State of Bolivia recently incorporated the Comprehensive State planning System (SPIE), which establishes instruments to articulate public policy planning within central and regional autonomous governments. The main instrument for regional governments is the Comprehensive Development Territorial Plan (PTDI), which determines specific institutional courses of action needed to reach goals and outcomes defined in medium term planning.

On 28 May 2018 in the city of Trinidad, capital of the Department of Beni, Bolivia, the session of honor of the Departmental Legislative Assembly (ALD) of Beni was held in which International IDEA was awarded a recognition plaque for its work in support of the Department.
