Discrimination and unequal representation within electoral systems can perpetuate systemic barriers that hinder women's participation and leadership in politics, ultimately undermining the integrity of elections. By ensuring that measures to deal with electoral risks, threats and crises are gender-sensitive, we can advance both electoral integrity and societal progress towards gender equality.
