As the Chair of the Council of Member States of International IDEA, Canada and International IDEA will host an in-person panel discussion on “Youth civic and political participation: shaping our democracies and our fight on climate change” on 2 June 2022, from 09:30 to 11:00. The event will take place at International IDEA’s Headquarters at Strömsborg 1 in Stockholm.

The fifth-panel discussion under the Anticipating Elections in Fiji series will be on the following topic: 'People with Disabilities and the Elections'.

In this panel discussion, we will hear the difficulties that are faced by people with disabilities to participate in elections and what provisions are available under the laws in Fiji to make elections inclusive.

The fourth panel discussion under the 'Anticipating Elections in Fiji' series will be on the following topic: Vote Counting & Verification Process. This panel discussion will examine how voters counted and verified candidate in the upcoming General Election, and politics parties and CSO’s should look out for during the Counting and Verification process.

The third-panel discussion under the “Anticipating Elections in Fiji” series will be on the topic: Candidates and the Elections. This panel discussion will discuss how to become an effective candidate in the upcoming General Election and how to fundraise for the election.

The General Elections Commission of the Republic of Indonesia (KPU RI) has been at the forefront of innovation when it comes to keeping the developmental momentum of electoral administration in the world's third largest democracy. Through this international seminar appropriately themed "Adopting Technology, Promoting Transparency and Enhancing Integrity", KPU RI will showcase its most recent achievements as well as obtaining insights from international experts on global trends.

The second panel discussion under the 'Anticipating Elections in Fiji' series will be on the following topic: Electoral Campaigning in Fiji. Since, Fiji has reduced the district magnitude to one which is one whole nation constituency under the Open List Proportional Representation system, it has affected the way campaigning is done in Fiji. This in turn has affected the ballot design.

The first Panel Discussion is on “The Impacts of Electoral System in Fiji”.

International IDEA is hosting a virtual Roundtable, titled “The Absent Voters of South Asia: Challenges and Prospects for the Enfranchisement of Migrants”, with the participation of select experts from the sub-region.

International IDEA is convening a global multistakeholder coalition for democracy in a virtual forum to be held for 24 hours on 7 December 2021. The purpose of the Global Democracy Coalition Forum is to facilitate a global conversation on democracy, as inputs to the Summit for Democracy, convened by the United States Government and to be held on 9 and 10 December 2021.

International IDEA’s “The Global State of Democracy: Building resilience in a pandemic era” report aims to influence the global debate and analyses current trends and challenges to democracy, exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Election Commission of India (ECI), the India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM), in association with IFES and International IDEA organized an online technical workshop on "Electoral Training: Content Development, Andragody and Training Methods". The workshop will be held on 16th-17th November 2021, from 5:30-08:00 PM [Indian Standard Time] (Indian Standard Time).

Dr Kevin Casas-Zamora, Secretary-General of International IDEA, has been invited to the 23rd KPI Congress 2021: Democracy in a new landscape. The Congress will be held online and coordinated from Thailand, 5-7 November 2021, and it will have the participation of prestigious leaders and regional experts.

International IDEA and the Constitution Transformation Network at Melbourne Law School will jointly organize The Melbourne Forum on Constitution-Building in Asia and the Pacific—an annual event that brings together practitioners and scholars from to explore constitution-building themes of global importance from a regional perspective.

Stockholm International Democracy Talks will take place in a digital format on 28-29 October. It is arranged as part of Sweden’s Drive for Democracy, launched in 2019 in an effort to provide a counter-narrative to the democratic backsliding we see in many parts of the world.

Twenty representatives from 11 indigenous tribes in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) selected as IP Champions, are attending a weeklong training on International IDEA’s Indigenous Peoples’ Rights in Constitutions Assessment Tool (IPCAT).
