La Conferencia Internacional “El Estado de la democracia en América Latina: 40 años desde el inicio de la tercera ola democrática” contará con la participación de tres expresidentes latinoamericanos, ministros, políticos, académicos, entre otras importantes personalidades.

The world’s third largest democracy, Indonesia, is preparing to go to the polls once again. On 17 April 2019, Indonesian’s will vote in the next national legislative and presidential elections. This is the first time that parliamentary and presidential elections will be held on the same day. There are two candidates for president.

Indonesia will hold simultaneous elections for the presidency and legislatures at the national, provincial and district levels, and also the Regional Representative Council (DPD) on 17 April 2019. These will be the most complex elections in the nation’s history. It will be the first time that presidential and legislative elections are held at the same time and the likely impact of parallel campaigning is much debated among scholars.

International IDEA will participate in the Public Discussion on Cyber Security in Elections 2019 of Indonesia, to be held on 6 Decemeber 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Governor's Office of the Capital City of Ulaanbaatar, the Institute of Philosophy of the Mongolian Academy of Science (MAS) and International IDEA will host a forum on "Improving accountability in public services through citizen participation" as the culmination of the democratic accountability assessment of social services conducted by MAS for the municipality of Ulaanbaatar. 

Launched in January 2016 by the Paris School of International Affairs of Sciences Po (PSIA), the Youth & Leaders Summit is an annual PSIA conference on complex international issues that brings together today’s leading international affairs personalities with PSIA students.
