This year, the ACE Electoral Knowledge Network celebrates 20 years as the world’s largest online source of electoral knowledge, promoting credible and transparent electoral processes around the world.

International IDEA and the International Center for Local Democracy (ICLD), a Swedish organization dedicated to strengthening local democracy, will once again organize a one-day dialogue training for 26 women local government councilors from nine countries. Participants will be from Mozambique, South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, Botswana, Uganda and Tanzania, Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. The training will take place at IDEA Headquarters in Stockholm.

International IDEA’s Electoral Processes Programme launched the "Timing and Sequencing of Elections” project in 2016 to provide well-needed policy guidelines on the timing and sequencing of transitional elections.

As the second United Nations High Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) is approaching, it is the pleasure of International IDEA and the Swedish Development Forum (FUF) to invite you to a seminar on the implementation, follow-up and review of  the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Do refugees have a place and a role in democracy? How inclusive is our democracy? How can we move from an emergency response to a long-term strategy? What is the role of refugees, governmental and non-governmental actors?

On 13 -14 June 2017, International IDEA is hosting a round table discussion on Cybersecurity in Elections. The event, taking place in The Hague, will provide electoral management bodies (EMBs), cybersecurity agencies and experts from across Europe and the United States an opportunity to exchange experiences related to recent concerns about an increase in hacking attacks against elections.

The discussion will focus on, amongst other things:
